Charlie Cline grew up in West Virginia and started making movies in high school, shooting in the backyard and basement with his family’s VHS video camera.
After graduating from West Virginia University, Charlie went on to receive an MFA in Film Production from Ohio University. He currently teaches film production in St. Louis, where he lives with his wife, Polly.

Charlie has produced several award-winning short films, which have screened in festivals across the country and internationally, including Archive (“Journal of Short Film,” Summer 2009), Farmer Brown (Pittsburgh Citypaper’s “Film Kitchen” Contest, Best Picture/Audience Award, 2005) and Monsters in Autumn (East Lansing Film Festival, Best Short Film, 2008).

With the upcoming feature-length movie Squid Man, which Charlie will be directing from his own screenplay, he’ll share his unique take on the “superhero” film, blending elements of comedy and drama, realism and fantasy.
